Before You Invite
Before sending invitations, ensure:You have a wallet to share
You have the person’s email address
Your plan allows additional members (check billing)
Invitation Process
Step 1: Open Wallet Members
Step 2: Send Invitation
Enter email address
Type the email address of your team member.
Use the email they’ll sign in with. If they don’t have an account, one will be created.
Step 3: Wait for Acceptance
The invitee receives an email containing:- Your name and the wallet name
- A link to accept the invitation
- Instructions for creating an account (if needed)
- Pending - Invitation sent, awaiting response
- Accepted - Member has joined the wallet
What the Invitee Sees
Email Invitation
The invitation email includes:Accepting the Invitation
When they click the link:- Existing users: Sign in and accept
- New users: Create an account, then accept
The invitation link includes a secure token and expires after 7 days.
Managing Invitations
Checking Invitation Status
To see pending invitations:- Open the wallet
- Click Members
- View the status column for each member
Resending an Invitation
If the invitation expired or wasn’t received:- Open wallet Members
- Find the pending invitation
- Click Resend
- A new email is sent with a fresh link
Canceling an Invitation
To revoke a pending invitation:- Open wallet Members
- Find the pending invitation
- Click Remove or Cancel
- The invitation link becomes invalid
Inviting New Users
When you invite someone without a Chainbook account:- Invitation sent - Email goes to their address
- Account created - A placeholder account is created
- They receive the email - With instructions to set up their account
- They set a password - During first sign-in
- Invitation accepted - They gain access to the wallet
The invitee must use the invited email address to sign up. Using a different email creates a separate account without access.

Choose the Right Email
Communicate Context
Before sending the invitation:- Let them know to expect it
- Explain what the wallet contains
- Share any relevant context
Set Expectations
Communicate what members can do:- View assets and transactions
- See categories and contacts
- Export data (if allowed by your plan)
- Add or remove assets
- Edit the wallet
- Invite other members
Review Member List Regularly
Audit your wallet members periodically:- Remove people who no longer need access
- Check for pending invitations that should be canceled
- Ensure the right people have access
Troubleshooting
Invitee says they didn't receive the email

- Check they’re looking in the correct inbox
- Have them check spam/junk folders
- Verify the email address is correct
- Click Resend to send a new invitation
- Try a different email address if issues persist
Invitation link expired
Invitation link expired
Invitation links expire after 7 days. Simply click Resend to send a fresh invitation with a new link.

If they signed up with a different email:
- Cancel the original invitation
- Send a new invitation to their actual email
- They can link both accounts later if needed

Check your plan limits:
- Free plan: Limited collaborators
- Pro plan: More collaborators
- Team plan: Unlimited collaborators
Member accepted but can't see the wallet

Ensure they:
- Signed in with the correct email
- Are looking in the Shared section
- Try refreshing the page
- Check if the invitation shows as “Accepted”
Email Deliverability
To ensure invitations arrive:For Invitees

For Administrators
If your organization blocks external emails:- Whitelist
chainbook.appdomain - Add Chainbook email addresses to approved senders
